Jesus and Mary have been spotted on Google Earth.
The extraordinary image, which can be seen on the satellite imaging site, appears to show a shrouded Messiah accompanied by Mother Mary.
The dark image of the son of God can be seen on the left, while his mother’s outline, coloured white and pink, is on the right.
Mary even appears to be cloaked in a flowing gown, head bowed and hands held in prayer.
The image was snapped by Google as its imaging vehicle drove along the A5 highway near Walensee, in Switzerland.
Many other bizarre images have been captured on Google Street in times past.

David Cameron drops out of Forbes power list top 10, as Vladimir Putin tops the world rankings

Sliding: Cameron dropped from number 10 to 11 in this year's list
Sliding: Cameron dropped from number 10 to 11 in this year's list
David Cameron is no longer considered one of the world's top 10 most powerful people, after dropping out of Forbes magazine's power list.
The Prime Minister's standing on the world stage has diminished, according to the annual ranking of the world's most powerful people, leading him to slip one place from 10th to 11th.
He now sits behind Wal-Mart CEO Michael Duke, but just ahead of the world's richest man Carlos Slim Helu.
In its profile of Mr Cameron, the magazine said he had been damaged by the row over energy pricesand now had "two years to galvanise the Tory party ahead of a 2015 General Election".
The magazine said: "The Conservative PM guides the world's sixth largest economy and was once hailed as the second coming of Margaret Thatcher. No more.
"He has recently been criticised for a flip-flop approach to green taxes after he pledged to slash the tax on household energy bills amid soaring gas and electricity prices.
"The Oxford graduate and (illegitimate) descendant of King William IV (1830-1837) has fired at the Guardian newspapers and NSA whistleblower Edward Snowdenfor 'making it a lot more difficult to keep our countries and our citizens safe'.
"He has two years to galvanize the Tories ahead of a 2015 general election."
Chinese premier Xi Jinping was at number three in the list, Pope Francis was number fourand German chancellor Angela Merkelwas the top-placed woman at number five.
Microsoft tycoon and philanthropist Bill Gates took the sixth place, US Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke was at number seven, Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah at eight and European Central Bank president Mario Draghi at nine.
The magazine ranks the 72 people on the list - one for every 100 million people on earth - according to how many people they have power over; the financial resources they control; if they have influence in more than one sphere; and how actively they wield their power to change the world.
The full rankings can be found on the Forbes website.

How A Lady Was Forced To Make Love With A Dog And A Horse For Money [Photo]

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar
DOGG_girl
When the Internet first came to the continent of  African society, most people were  very pleased with it because it reduced stress of communication.
It served many people for chatting, sending mails and even business. As the time passed many ladies discovered that they could use the internet to find a chat friend or a life partner. Some girls have greatly benefited just by using the internet to find their dream marriages or relationhsips. Others have fallen into traps in the West and wish they would never have known what the internet was. This is the case of one Cameroonian, Elvire Axelle Tchamakoua.
SEE HOW IT ALL HAPPENED….
Axelle is prostituté who is pimped to various men by her main man Jean Claude (French Businessman). She did not mind serving her customers from the front or from behind. She has been doing this job for quite a while and was used to this. The shocking part of it is that, Axelle is a 24 years old girl with a Formal Training Certificate in Aesthetics and Beauty. Why a young lady in her age would wish for fast cash is the question many people are asking.
According to reports Axelle met her pimping Boss, Jean Claude on the Internet in October 2011. They had a normal chat like every other person would have when chatting with a stranger. Jean Claude told her he was a Businessman based in Marseille (France) and was into import and export. Axelle who thought she had found the lové of her life continued her communication with Jean Claude Fayard and on March 2012 he came to visit her in Cameroon. There was a huge celebration at Axelle’s Aunt’s Residence at Santa Barbara in Yaounde. Two days in Cameroon, Jean Claude proposed to Axelle and got married to her in both traditional and Legal Ceremonies. Both marriages took place on the 18th and 20th of March 2012 respectively.
Jean Claude made all travelling arrangements and the both of them flew to France on the 21 of March that same year.He even gave Axelle’s family the sum of 600.000 FCFA for their up keep. Not knowing that they were selling their daughter into séx slavery, the family happily bid the couple goodbye as they left for France.
The truth of the matter was that Jean Claude is a pimp who goes to Africa and picks up girls to come and work as séx slaves for him in France. Since Axelle did not know about this, she would wish she never used the internet in her life. As the couple arrived France, they lived in a town called Clermont Ferrand for about 9 months after which they moved to a new place called Lourdes. It is in this place that Axelle had the worst experience of her life.
A few days after their arrival to Lourdes, a man knocked on the door saying he wants to see Jean Claude. Little did Axelle know that, he would be her first client who had already paid into her husband’s bank account. When Axelle called her husband’s attention to the guest, she was shocked when her husband told her to do whatever the guest tells her to do.
A few days later after coming home from work, Jean Claude sits Axelle and laid down the rules and regulations of the job. He told her she has to pay back all the money he spent on her in Cameroon. He calculated the amount to be more than 3,000 euros and she will also be working for him for the next two years. Axelle who became speechless thought she was dreaming. It was  worse when Jean Claude collected her personal belongings and all her documents. She was also prohibited from making any calls to the outside world.
Every day she had male customers who would come for her service taking her from front and behind all the time. She was mandated to do whatever they wanted. They would not use any protection during intercourse. One day Jean Claude came home with a customer accompanied by a dog. The man whose name is Loiseau had deposited some money into Jean Claude’s account. Axelle who didn’t see this coming was pushed into the room and forced to have séx with the dog which she did. It is said that Jean Claude made more money when Axelle sleeps with an animal so these deals became the order of the day.
After her encounter with the dog, Jean Claude left with Mr Loiseau leaving Axelle alone in the house. After numerous trials, she broke down the door and ran into the street where she met a Cameroonian couple living in the town. They helped her to get to the Embassy where she narrated her ordeal. The Police was immediately dispatched to Jean Claude’s house where they found evidence linking him to kidnapping and other serious allegations. Jean Claude was immediately arrested and is waiting for judgement. Meanwhile Axelle flew back to Cameroon and was immediately taken to the hospital for further examinations and treatments.
See what the Internet can do to the youths of a country. All that glitters is not  Gold, my dear brothers and sisters. If some of you could hear the stories of some Africans in the Diaspora, you will not envy them at all. After everything, home is the best even when our government and politicians fail us.What do you guys think. I need your contributions.

Ladies Beware! Worm-Infested Weaves from Dead People Find Their Way into African Market

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar
naomihair12
According to ireporterstv.co, Irene Myangoh, a personal assistant working at a law firm in Nairobi went to an upmarket hair salon along Kenyatta Avenue, and spent more than $5,500 on a human hair weave.
Two weeks later she started suffering from a severe headache that would not go away. She would wake up with a headache at night.
She went to a private doctor who gave her drugs for the relief of mild to moderate pain of inflammatory origin with or without fever; they would only work for a few hours and then the headache would be back worse than even before.
Desperate, she went to see a specialist who did blood tests and even a brain scan. All the tests were negative but the headache persisted, making her unable to concentrate at work and sleeping very poorly.
She went back to her doctor who decided to examine her scalp and under the beautiful weave he found worms!
The worms were burrowing into her skull and after sending the samples to the lab they found that the hair had eggs from which the worms had hatched.
The doctor told her that the hair was probably from a corpse because those worms are usually found on dead bodies.  Efforts to reach her doctor for further comments were fruitless for he was said to be out of the country.
The manager of the salon where Irene got the hair product was traumatised and said they had fitted ten weaves from the package already, adding that the particular batch of hair had sold very fast; in less than a month, she had sold over 150 pieces.
“I am shocked to hear this because this is the first time such a thing is happening to my clients. I will get more information from my supplier because we import these weaves from the UK, USA and India,” says the salon manager who did not want to be mentioned.
She continued to say: “Maybe, the supplier sent us rejects from the factory or weaves that had overstayed in the stores but I promise to follow up on the matter and compensate Irene.”
Irene had to shave after this ordeal and took antibiotics for two weeks.
Dr CK Musau, a surgeon at Nairobi hospital says that he has dealt with more than ten cases in a period of six months.
He further urges ladies to be very careful with what they put on their heads, and adds that it is better to appreciate natural beauty and be content with what God has blessed them with, instead of chasing artificial beauty.
“It is unfortunate how the West has influenced Kenyan youth; especially ladies. They should stick to their natural African beauty as opposed to trying to ape what they see,” says Musau.
Dr Musau reiterated that the youth must keep in mind that of late, Kenyans can sell anything: from body parts to human beings to used coffins and now even weaves that seem to come from corpses.
Elsewhere, 16-year-old girl from Buruburu, a Nairobi surburb, also suffered the same fate but unfortunately for her she died. Cobweb eggs were found in her hair after she died.
There was a profound cobweb design in her weaved hair. She dropped dead after constant headaches.
The root cause? The weave had unnoticed spider eggs. The warmth produced after weaving provided a very conducive environment for the eggs to hatch.
A spider grew in her scalp and bit her. The poison found its way to her blood. She could not survive the attack.

Yang Hu was left in agony after severing his manhood from his body, and decided to cycle to the hospital to have it re-attached to his body.
But rather than prep him for immediate surgery, doctors told him to get on his bike again and go home because he forgot to bring it with him.
Yang, from Jiaxing, in Zhejiang province, east China, eventually rode home to pick up his man-hood but doctors hit him with yet more bad news – it had been without blood for too long and was therefore impossible to re-attach.
The 26-year-old was depressed at his single life since he moved to the city and began long hours at a clothing factory, according to pals.
His depression grew so bad that he cut off his man-hood in a sudden act of haste, believing it would stop him thinking about finding a lover.
Yang’s pals have now blasted the doctors at the hospital for not providing an ambulance for him to go home and collect his man-hood.
They said that his private parts could have been saved if he hadn’t had to cycle back, taking up timeMan Cuts His Own man-hood, Forgets To Take It To Hospital To Sew Back On
Stuart Frain was seconds away from death when he accidentally cut off his arm
Last year retired fireman Stuart Frain accidentally hacked off his arm using a circular saw.
He picked up the limb – whcih was barely hanging on to the rest of his body, and ran hundreds of yards with it before he finally managed to get help.
He just managed to get to hospital in time for the arm to be re-attached to his body.
Mr Frain said at the time: “Because it’s quite secluded where I live I ran for help holding the arm.
“When I arrived at hospital they said that I’d probably only been about 90 seconds away from death.”

Nigerians, Ghanaians, Others Condemn UK’s “Go Home” Campaign

In the UK illegally mobile billboard
Africans as well as Asians in the UK have criticised the “Go Home” campaign targeted at illegal immigrants living in Britain.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the British government has embarked on a campaign to encourage illegal immigrants to leave the UK as tough immigration laws are being proposed.
NAN investigation revealed that many immigrants, who have overstayed in the country, have received text messages from the UK Home Office advising them to leave the country.
Part of the message which was sent to over 58,000 people read: “You are required to leave the UK as you no longer have the rights to remain.’’
Similarly , “Go Home or Face Arrest” posters are on display in public utilities as well as on taxis and buses, although the Advertising Standards Authority said it had banned the posters, as they had misled the public on arrest statistics displayed.
Reacting to the development, Mr Bimbo Folayan, President of the Central Association of Nigerians in the UK (CANUK) said, “racist elements  could high jack  the campaign  by targeting  a certain group of people.
“We are not happy about the campaign as it could be misinterpreted by racist elements. The British government would do better by adopting a more effective means to check the borders and stop illegal immigration to the UK.
“But moving around with vans and asking people to go back home is wrong, as the wrong people would be harassed. We have expressed our displeasure to the Nigerian High Commission and the British government,’’ he stressed.
Folayan said that CANUK on its part had been encouraging Nigerians living in the UK illegally to regularise their documents to ensure proper resident status.
“We have sensitised Nigerians within the community to either regularise their stay in Britain or embrace the Assisted Voluntary Return Scheme and  where they can’t access the scheme they should find a way to go back home,” he added.
According to him, it has become very difficult to live in the UK now especially with job cuts.
Other immigrants in the UK, mostly Ghanaians, Pakistanis and other nationals mostly from Commonwealth nations, who spoke to NAN in London also expressed concern over the “Return Home campaign’’.
A Ghanaian entrepreneur, Mr Joe Kwekwu, said that even immigrants with proper documentation stand the risk of being harassed, “as hooligans now key into the campaign to perpetrate hate crime’’.
Reports in the British media say more  than 4,160 people had left the UK following the campaign

How A Married Man I Met On BB Almost Killed Me With Drugged Drinks

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar
The lessons learned from the mishap that happened to Cynthia Osokogu cannot be overemphasized, as many are now aware of the disadvantages of the social media especially in leading people to the hands of hoodlums. This is yet another story froma lady that simply wants us to learn. It is a near-death experience a young lady had with a man who was her BBM friend:
I am a girl who has fears, beliefs, reservations and just your regular typical Nigerian girl. This past few weeks has been one hell of a game for me. I have really been unsettled and I thought I share this story with you.
When Cynthia (the lady killed in the hotel room in Festac, Lagos) surfaced on the internet and various news media, I was scared and it brought back a whole lot of memories to me and also served as and eye opener. Many people castigated and criticised Cynthia (may her gentle soul rest in peace), but my point is, it could have been anybody, anybody at all.We have met people through various social media. Some have ended up well, some have not but with painful memories. To cut the long story short, let me kindly share with you my encounter with social media especially the very popular Blackberry Messenger (BBM).
I am a graduate and currently serving in Kaduna. I could have runced it, but I needed somewhere to clear my head and forget about my ugly encounter. Here is my story.
I happened to have a married man as a contact on my BBM. He had been asking me out for over six months and I refused to date him. As time went on, he invited me clubbing with him when his wife was outside the country, and I went with him all night. We spent most of the night at Swe bar, Lagos.
I also met his clique of friends, married as well with their various mistresses. We had ‘mad’ fun. After all the clubbing and drinking, he lodged me in a hotel somewhere in Obalende. I felt sort of safe with him. We did not have s*x, but he made sweet love to me and touched me in places I had never ever imagined.
He kissed me passionately but guess what? He did not have s*x with me. We did all sorts but there was no penetration. So, to an extent, I trusted he was a good person to be around with. I did not know that it was all part of the plan.
He gave me N10,000 and put me in a cab to go home the next morning. We kept talking and chatting and sending unclad pictures to each other and he told me naughty things of how he wanted to whisper things in my ear, I blushed. We didn’t see for two weeks and that was because his wife just came back from Turkey.
One faithful evening, he pinged me that he was organising a beach party/boat cruise and that he would love for me to be his date and that he wanted to open a BBM chat, as a medium for his friends and my friends to interact. I was excited about it, I just wanted to have fun. I was able to get five of my very hot friends.
The BBM group opened and we got chatting. I also realise that majority of them were married and working in reputable firms. It was fun and we didn’t mind if they were married, we just wanted to have fun, as well as some other girls apart from my friends in the group.
We chatted exclusively, sent pictures to the BBM group to introduce ourselves, and we had opened group conversations pending the beach party. And as excited as we were, we went shopping for nice sexy beach wears.
The D-day finally came, we all assembled at the Lagos Island Boat Club. I was wowed because it was a high class party. We were cruising in a boat loaded with goodies drinks and hot babes, and as well ‘MARRIED MEN’. I did not care, I just said in my mind that I would not roll with married men anymore after this, that for now, all I wanted to do was to catch some fun. After all, I wasn’t paying bills.
We got there, it was a private beach resort. Most of the beach facilities I got to see there were owned by multinational companies. We got out of the boat, and went to where we were partying. It was a duplex made with wood. It was a very nice setting.
I felt comfortable because it even had a fence around it separating it from other beach houses around. So, there was privacy and of course bouncers (heavy looking guys) guarding the place. I said to myself, this must be heaven, I must be dreaming.
Anyways, we felt free with each other because we had been chatting. It was 5:30pm and the party just started. We had drinks flowing from the private bar tender which happens to be owned by one of the men in the group. Reality struck when I realised that I was feeling dizzy and feeling really funny and light headed. Not only me, but other girls around me too noticed there was something strange about it.
I was also feeling HORNY as hell! I had been drugged. They monitored us and when they knew the drug had really gone deep into our system, they moved us up into the main beach house. I could still see faces, but was too weak and horny to react.
Mr B, the man who took me clubbing, carried me in his hands like a sacrifice and put me down on the floor just as other men also did with their girls. We were eight in numbers; 8 girls, 8 guys, and they all stri*ped us down and had s*x with us.
I enjoyed it a bit because I was horny. It was a mixed feeling because I cried, I moaned, but I did not know how many times he came into me. He pounded me hard. I was dizzy, but he grabbed me with force. All I could notice was the wedding ring on his finger. I thought of how wicked and miserable some married can be. How inhuman and heartless they could be.
All of them took turns in switching partners and slept with all of us. I passed out. That was the last thing I could remember. I felt water poured on me. I noticed all the other girls around me too were half unclad and some stark unclad.
We spent the night at the beach, but the men were no where to be found. I looked round me and all I could see was packs of used condoms. I ran to pick my cloths and possibly raise an alarm. I got dressed, found my phone with an envelope. It contained N16,000 and a note asking us to take N2000 each for transport. Tears of anger and rage filled my eyes and the girls around me as well.
“We were drugged and used like tissue paper. I grabbed my phone and noticed a ping came in. I checked my phone and I noticed the BBM group had been deleted, and a message via BBM from MR B came in. He threatened me that if I say a word to anyone, I would regret it.
I told him he was a bastard, and he said try it. A picture came in, several pictures. In fact, they were pictures of us being unclad on the floor. Pictures of the humiliating us but they blurred the faces of the men. In total, I got 20 pictures. I was not myself for a month.
I went back to school, I had no one to talk to. The rest of the semester was hell for me. My CGPA dropped drastically. It was the worst out of the worst result I ever had.
Till today, my friends and I have not discussed this with anyone, but all I could do when I heard of Cynthia’s story was to narrate my own ordeal anonymously and spread the news, the word, and pray they (ladies who do runs) see it and changed their ways.
I am now born again. I have given my life to Christ. I fear men so much that I cannot even move close to them. I still have nightmares, but with time, God will strengthen me and I will move on. My advice to single ladies out there is, do not be desperate for fun. Pray to God to open your eyes of understanding, and pray hard. He who kneels before God will stand before kings and queens.
To all married women, pray hard to God to intervene in your marriages and turn your husbands from bad habits and bad friends. As for me, I do not think I ever want to get married or date a man again. That chapter has been closed for good in my life.
Please, do not ignore my mail. Please post it. There are a lot of things we ladies need to learn. Please post it on your blog and save a soul. It could be your friend, sister, cousin, neighbour.

Glory Ojuala drugged by husband
A nursing mother, Mrs Glory Ojuala, has narrated how her husband, Alex Ojuala, drugged her for three days in order to have s*x with her a few days after she was delivered of a baby at her matrimonial home in Lagos State, western Nigeria.

The mother of three children made the shocking revelation at Ejigbo Customary Court in Lagos State on Monday while testifying before the court following a petition she filed before the court for dissolution of their 15-year marriage.
The 30-year old housewife claimed that two days after she gave birth to their child, her husband started pestering her for s*x in the presence of her mother, who was on a visit.
Glory told the court that she denied her husband s*x because she was still recovering from pangs childbirth and was chest feeding, but he accused her of having extramarital affairs and cut the family’s daily feeding allowance to N100 to punish her.
Glory alleged that she did not know that her husband had an ulterior motive when she gave her a soft drink while she was eating on the day her husband drugged her.

Alex Ojuala accused of drugging wife for s*x
The nursing mother alleged that after she took the soft drink, she couldn’t explain what happened afterwards until she was revived in a hosptial three days later.
She said that she later knew that her husband drugged her to have s*x with her when he confessed that he did so because she was denying him s*x and was sleeping with other men.
She told the court that after the incident she moved out of his house and since then they have been living separately, while her husband abandoned their children for her to take care of them alone.
The embittered woman had petitioned the court seeking for the dissolution of their 15-year marriage on the grounds that her husband was threatening her life, did not take care of her and their children and beat her, adding that she does not love him anymore.
Glory narrated in court how Alex Ojuala, an indigene of Edo State, came to her village in Eket in Akwa Ibom State and married her at a tender age.
She said despite her age, she accepted to marry him against her family wish, only to be maltreated by him after they started living together.
She told the court that she believed that he charmed her to marry him and her suspicion was confirmed when she started attending church.
Glory asked the court to compel Alex to take care of their children by providing for their upkeep and education. In response, Alex denied all the allegations made against him and said he had been taking care of his family until trouble started.
Alex said he used to give his wife N200 daily before leaving for work and wondered how she would claim that he did not take care of her and their children.
He also said that he was no longer interested in the relationship and asked the court to dissolve the marriage.
He promised to provide N10,000 for the upkeep and education of the children.
The president of the court, Mr T. A. Eko, queried Alex for abandoning the responsibility of the training their children for his estranged wife to shoulder and asked him to have a change of heart for the interest of the children. The matter was adjourned till March 2014.

FG Requires N464trn To Implement Master Plan On Infrastructure

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar
NPC
Mr Fidelis Ugbo, the Secretary of the National Planning Commission, says N464 trillion will be required to implement the National Integrated Infrastructure Master Plan (NIIMP).
The master plan is a 30-year plan expected to be funded by the federal and state governments as well as the private sector.
Ugbo made the disclosure on Tuesday at the opening of the 10th Joint Planning Board (JPB) and National Council on Development Planning (NCDP) meetings in Uyo.
The theme of the meeting is “Imperative of Strategic Planning as a Framework for Effective Policy Formation and Implementation for Nigeria’s Transformation’’.
“The scope of the NIIMP coverage is 2014 to 2043. The investment size is approximately N464 trillion and is to be implemented through five-year operational plan and 10-year strategic plan for 30 years.
“The NIIMP has been developed, concluded and is currently being validated to complement the Transformation Agenda and Vision 20:2020,’’ Ugbo said.
He urged the permanent secretaries of states planning commissions, who were actively involved in the plan, to be involved in the implementation of the plan.
Ugbo also urged state governments to ensure that their annual budgets and medium term plans were aligned with the priorities of the NIIMP with effect from the 2014 budget.
However, Mrs Arit Ibanga, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Economic Development, Akwa Ibom, said dwindling revenue due to oil theft in the Niger Delta had severe implications on the nation’s development planning processes.
“The outcome of the current review of the revenue formula, the national dialogue and the ongoing constitution review will severely impact on our planning processes.
“We must therefore be able to develop a more robust framework and response capability that will be easily amendable to the possible distortions these changes may bring,’’ Ibanga said.
The three-day meeting will review the extent of implementation of key recommendations on development planning processes arising from the last JPB meeting held in Benue. [NAN]

Boy, 14, rapes 9-year-old girl to death

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar

The police in Lagos State have commenced investigation into how a nine-year-old girl died, after sustaining injuries caused by alleged consistent rape.
According to police authorities, the deceased was molested over five times, by a 14-year-old student, Onyi Adimabua, in the Ikorodu area of the state.
The father of the deceased, Simeon Jigo, told PUNCH Metro that Onyi is the son of the proprietor of the school his daughter attended.

He said his daughter opened up about the rape when she started having medical problems.
The 77-year-old man said his daughter died on October 3, 2013.
He said, “Up until my daughter’s death, she was a pupil of Fulfilled Greenland School, Ikorodu, and she was in primary three. One day, she came home and started complaining of pains around her honeypot, stomach area. We rushed her to Ikorodu General Hospital.
“A doctor checked her and after conducting some tests on her, told us that my daughter had sustained medical complications due to forced sexual intercourse. I was alarmed by this; so, I had a private discussion with my daughter.
“She told me that it was her school proprietor’s son, Onyi, that had been molesting her. The boy had threatened to kill her if she ever told anyone about it.”
The indigene of Ondo State told PUNCH Metro that after initial treatments, he took his daughter to Arogbo in Ondo State to be taken care of but her condition continued to deteriorate.
A few days after the troubled father travelled to Ondo State, Onyi, accompanied by his parents, also travelled to Ondo State, to apologise to Jigo’s family. The girl, however, was said to have died that very day.
“On getting to the house where my daughter was, we discovered that she was dead. Onyi confessed that he had been molesting my daughter prior to her death,’ Jigo said.
PUNCH Metro learnt that after the girl’s demise, irate youths in the area attempted to lynch the 14-year-old boy.
The bereaved father was said to have intervened and reported the matter to a nearby police station, where the teenager was held for safe keeping. The next morning, Onyi and his parents travelled back to Lagos.
The alleged rapist’s parents, in company with a chief in Ikorodu, reportedly visited Jigo when he returned to Lagos. The group were said to have pleaded that the bereaved father should not pursue the case but he refused.
Jigo said, “I went to the Ikorodu Police station to report the case but was surprised when the policemen on duty said I should not write any statement. They only told me to write down my telephone number and said they would call me later.
“After waiting for many days without any call, I wrote a petition and the matter was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba.”
It was however learnt that Onyi had been taken to his father’s hometown in Delta State thereby stalling police investigation.
The teenager’s parents, however described the incident as the handiwork of the devil.
The 14-year-old boy’s father, Andrew Adimabua, said, “I trained that boy in the way of the Lord and expected so much from him. He has confessed to the act; there is nothing to hide. He told me that he learnt about sex by watching blue (badographic) films.
“We are not hiding him and we will cooperate with the police. On the day the little girl died, he was beaten up and made to stay in the rain for hours. As a result, he contracted pneumonia so we sent him home for treatment. When he recovers, he’ll be taken to the police for questioning.”
Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent on the telephone, expressed shock at the development.
Braide said Onyi would be re-arrested in the course of investigation.
“It is appalling that a teenager could indulge in such act. The matter is under investigation and the culprit will be re-arrested.”

Nyeson Wike Weeps At Private Meeting With ASUU

The supervising Minister of Education, Nyeson Wike had thought that it would be a piece of cake for him to go into a discussion with the leadership of ASUU and come out smiling after a compromise, but was shocked at the recent meeting in Abuja when it became obvious that ASUU is very serious.

His plan to use the resolution of the strike to lobby President Jonathan to make a full Minister of Education has does suffered a serious set back. It doesn't seem that would happen anytime soon and it appears ASUU and its leadership are not ready to accept anything less.

How Iyanya Raked In N130million In Endorsement Deals

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar

Pop singer Iyanya Mbuk has amassed over N130 million in endorsements deals in 2013 alone. Since his highly successful 2012 monster hit single ‘Kukere’, it has been one hit after another, one award after another and one endorsement contract after another for the once impoverished singer.

In the last one year and half, Iyanya has proven that he can be a hit maker disappointing the initial doubts that critics had raised about him when his 2009 debut album ‘My Story’ flopped. Certainly, Iyanya took the lesson of that album and transformed himself into one of the most sought after Nigerian artistes today placing him on the pedestal where corporate organizations would jostle to do business with him.

Three weeks ago, the singer closed a deal reportedly worth N35 million with mobile phone manufacturing company, SOLO Mobile. According to his publicist, Wildflower PR, the deal was iced with a brand new 2014 Prado SUV.

Earlier in May, the 27 year old singer was lucky enough to have been included in MTN’s swoop of some of the major players in the music industry, becoming one of the company’s highest paid brand ambassadors in a N40 million deal.

It sure didn’t end there. When Zinox Technologies Limited, manufacturer of Nigeria’s first internationally certified branded computers was looking for a face to represent its brand, guess who quickly came to mind? None other than the rave of the moment, Iyanya. The Leo Stan-Ekeh owned tech-company put pen to paper, inked a deal and made Iyanya N56milion richer, according to those familiar with the details of the deal.

These endorsement deals have gone on to show the relevance Iyanya has in today’s music scene. Apart from the occasional engagements, the pop star will begin to appear on billboards and TV commercials preaching the gospel of these brands. From all indications, Iyanya, a Business Management graduate of the University of Calabar and winner of the inaugural MTN Project Fame West Africa, has had quite an awesome 2013.

Speaking to NET, Iyanya’s partner Ubi Franklin attributes his success and that of the label to God and hardwork. ‘All thanks and Glory to God because we are actually living out our dream. We are where we are today because of hard work and passion for what we do.’

On why Iyanya seems to be a choice for these brands, Franklin says ‘I guess they all see the potential in Iyanya. They have seen that Iyanya as a brand can do a lot to promote their own brands. He is one of the hardest working artistes I know and he has worked hard to deserve everything he has earned.’

In less than one year, Iyanya has upgraded his garage with about three exotic cars. Franklin has done the same too, and three months ago, the team acquired a jeep for their artiste and protégé, Nigerian US returnee and singer, Emma Nyra.

The music business is probably one of the most interesting yet difficult businesses in the world and for Iyanya, it’s been one great ride with the prospect of many good things to come.

Guys, Never Say These Things to Overweight Ladies

Posted by Unknown Selasa, 29 Oktober 2013 0 komentar
Guys, Never Say These Things to Overweight LadiesA shocking number of people think that it's acceptable to comment on women's bodies – curvy, skinny, short and tall alike. However, women who fall outside of the thin “ideal” face a specific type of weight discrimination. The comments often directed at these women make it glaringly clear that fat stigma is (sadly) still alive and well.

The term “plus-size” itself is a point of contention for many women. Obviously no one should be singled out for their body size, or treated differently because of their weight. But the fact remains that strangers, friends, family members and colleagues often feel empowered to comment on a woman's size, especially when that size is not petite.

Here are some of the comments you should avoid saying to a woman who isn't rail-thin:
"You have such a pretty face."

"You should wear black."

"You're a big girl."

"Have you ever thought about lap band surgery?"

"I don't have a problem with bigger girls."

"You're big-boned, that's all."

"If you ate less, you'd lose the weight."

"What happened?"

"I wish I enjoyed food like you."

"Don't worry, I like thick girls."

"Have you ever tried losing weight?"

"You shouldn't eat that."

"You look fine the way you are."

"You shouldn't eat that."

"Did you gain weight because you're afraid of attracting men?"

"You'd be so pretty if you lost weight."

"When are you due?"

"My friend lost so much weight on this great diet."

"If you slimmed down, you'd be really sexy."

"Have you checked your cholesterol recently?"

"You should try to be healthier."

"You shouldn't wear stripes/polka dots/floral prints."

"You'd be dateable if you lost weight."

SACRILEGE: American Baptist church sets to burn Bibles

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar

A Baptist church in the USA has concluding plans to burn Bibles on Thursday, October 31.

Justifying the planned action, Pastor Marc Grizzard, of Amazing Grace Baptist Church in Canton, North Carolina, said that the first King James translation of the Bible is the only true declaration of God’s word, and that all others are “satanic”.

biblesPastor Grizzard and 14 other members of the church plan to burn copies of the other “perversions” of Scripture on Halloween, according to a report in Britain’s Telegraph.

“The New Revised Version Bible, the American Standard Version Bible, and even the New King James Version are all pronounced to be works of the Devil by Pastor Grizzard and his followers, the paper said.

It quoted Pastor Grizzard as saying: “I believe the King James version is God’s preserved, inspired, inerrant, infallible word of God… for English-speaking people. We are burning books that we believe to be Satanic.”

As well as inappropriate translations from the original Hebrew and Aramaic, the pastor and his associates will be burning books by various Christian authors, as well as music of every genre.

Nigerians Abroad: Answering The Question "Where Are You From"

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar

OK, I spent some years in Nigerian before relocating abroad, but I tend to constantly have this problem whenever I come across a fellow Nigerian man. Usually the Non-Nigerians are cool when they just ask are you from Africa, and you say Yes, thats it, the whites, hispanic and Asians just really consider that if you are not American they you are from "Africa" /End of discussion. But in the spirit of aproko that has been bestowed on all of us, Nigerians like to poke nose, when even when you answer you are from Nigeria they insist what side, which state and which local government area (seriously?). Ok my problem is that when I was in Nigeria, I was born and grown in a state that is not same as where my parents are from (although I perfectly understand my mothers tongue, but my native tongue is of the state where I was born and spent most of my teen/adult life in), this seems to be creating an identity crisis as I have never been to the state where my parents were born (where they are from?), So I just end up telling the nosy Nigerians where I was born (I assume thats where I am from?) then eventually when they get to see my name they exclaim (Loud Nigerians, especially the Yorubas) - Ah, you are from where and you said you are from here, then I have to start telling them all my life history (I feel this annoying).

In a nut shell where is a person really "from"?? Is it where you grew up?, where you were born or where your parents are "from"? (born)

William Masvinhu once again received the title of the ugliest man in Harare on Friday night at the City Sports Bar.

The competition which pits a group of ‘aesthetically challenged’ men against each other in a contest to win the title of ‘Mr Ugly Harare’ was first held in 2011. It is worth mentioning that the competition received a lot of criticism, still it has gained even more popularity.

This year the participants were reportedly rewarded with overalls, safety shoes and rain coats; the first runner up, Benny Chakanyuka also received US$100 and the second runner up Funny Musekiwa walked away with US$50 and groceries.

The grand prize winner got the crown, prize money and, what is more, a year’s school fees for one of his children - his wife was very happy about it.

Speaking to journalists about the preparation process he went for the contests, Masvinu said no preparation was needed because it all came naturally for him.

“My ugliness comes naturally to me and although I did a bit to prepare for the show, I let them do the rest,” the winner said.

Being Sexy Not About Big Backside — Mercy Johnson

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar

Background
I am Mercy Johnson, an actress. I was born 29 years ago and I am the fourth child in a family of seven. My father is an ex-military officer and I left my mother at the age of two to live with him. Due to the nature of his job, he was constantly transferred from one station to another. I am proud of him because he taught me all I needed to know from childhood to adulthood.

Movie industry
I have grown with time and there have been good and bad times. There have been rumours and scandals. Sometimes, when I cry in movies, it wasn’t the script that made me cry. Rather, I reflect on my humble beginning and the height I’ve attained now. This makes me cry.

Journey into acting
After my secondary school education, I approached a friend for assistance to feature in a movie. He took me to the National Theatre, Lagos, but a role did not come until a year later. My first lead role was in a film titled, ‘The Maid.’ It was quite challenging to interprete because it was my first movie. When I saw the veterans on set, I fidgeted.

A star actress
Life is in phases and I cannot say I have reached the peak of my profession. I have not even won an Oscar yet! There is always a higher mountain to climb, a new vision to fulfill and I am at that point. I want to achieve new and greater dreams.

Fulfillment
The greatest fulfillment is the ability to influence people positively through my acting.

Challenges
Life is not a bed of roses; it comes with challenges which make me stronger and who I am.

Nollywood: Then and now
We have achieved feats which the old Nollywood did not achieve. It is all about progression and I am sure that in the future, Nollywood will achieve a greater feat than it is doing currently.

Relationship
My husband is loving and he is an understanding man. I am so happy to be married to him. I acted a movie, ‘Baby Oku in America’ when I was heavily pregnant and he didn’t feel bad about it. He understands that I am an actor and sometimes, we need real life situations, like the pregnancy, to interpret a role. Not many men would allow their wife do that.

Scandals
They are all lies. I just think the media needs to do their verification well before they put any story out. Whenever I read all manner of lies about me in the media, I wonder where all of these came from and regret being an actor. But in all, I move on and take it as one of the hazards of the job. I am fulfilled as an actor.

Mercy Johnson Foundation
I floated the foundation because of my love for the less privileged. One of my greatest joys is to see other people happy. I want to make lasting impact in my society. The objective is to identify the needs of the less privilege, evaluate them and help in our own little way. I strongly believe that as movie stars, we should live beyond the euphoria of stardom.

A sexy woman
It is inbuilt. It’s just how you feel about yourself. For me, being sexy is confidence. It mustn’t be about the hairstyle or the accessories or the big buttocks. It’s about you, liking yourself just the way you are.

Motherhood
My husband is a wonderful man. He makes my job easier and helps carry our daughter, Purity. He feeds her and she misses him whenever he is not around. As a family, we understand one another and we make whatever adjustments we have to make in order to have a good home.

Success
The challenges I faced have yielded results and I am reaping the fruits of all my efforts. I have grown from nobody in the industry to becoming a top actress from Africa. To God be all the glory.

To be an actress
Talent is never enough you must constantly brush up your talent but training can come in different form. You only need to ensure that in whatever form, you are not just relying on your inborn talent.

Projects
There are many but I’m not permitted to disclose them yet. They will start unfolding soon.

Fear
My worst fear will be to leave this earth without making a huge impact.

Fashion
I don’t wear what is in vogue or what everybody is wearing, I just wear what suits me and I’m lucky to have a physique that encourages everything I wear. My husband is a huge critic, so when he pays compliments to my dressing, I feel so good. He doesn’t believe that exposing anything makes you look better. He feels when you cover up, you look real nice.

To upcoming actors
Be yourself and let your talent speak for you. Don’t come into the industry because you want to be famous, but because you love the art of acting. Then try to appreciate those who were there before you.

Why I Beat My 14-Year-Old Daughter To Death"

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar
Unless by divine intervention, John Udin, a retired soldier may likely spend the rest of his life in jail if he doesn’t go to the gallows for clubbing his 14- year old daughter, Glory to death.

John 72, from Jesse, Warri in Delta State was discharged from the Nigeria Army in 1999 as a corporal. He has 11 children from three wives. Two of the wives and seven children are in Jesse, while he resides at 28 Adewale Street, Iba New Site, Ojo, Lagos with the youngest wife, Comfort and four children in a two-room apartment.

Last Tuesday, what started as minor family quarrel turned fatal. On that fateful evening, while Comfort, Glory and the three other children were preparing for evening church service, it was alleged that John came to the front of their compound and sat down. As his family members wanted to leave for church, it was further alleged that he blocked the entrance and said they won’t go because they lack the character of good Christians.

According to John, his daughter Glory, a secondary school student didn’t have an iota of respect for him. “Whenever I tried to counsel or advise her as a beloved father, she would make ignoble and despicable signs to show an extreme disdain and contempt she has for me. These are the things she copied from her mother.
“Some times she would go to another family’s house to sleep or she did something not of good report, when I tried to caution her, she would talk to me or demonstrate with a sign that shows an utter contempt.”

As John prevented them from going to church, he accused Glory of making the same derogatory sign to show her contempt for him. This was said to have provoked the ex-soldier who dragged Glory to their bedroom where he allegedly beat her with a nail-studded plank.

According to Comfort, her husband didn’t allow their daughter any medical assistance.

“I went and called a nurse who came and started treating her. When she was not improving, my husband took her to a hospital where she died” Comfort said.
Glory died last Sunday five days after the incident.

In an interview< John in a sober mood, wondered why he should kill his own daughter and heaped the blame on Satan.

“I am not crazy to give birth to a child and at the same time kill the child. I don’t have mother or father, my children are everything to me. So why should I kill her? My intention was to hit the plank on her back for her just to receive the pain and nothing more but it landed on her forehead.

“When my wife went and reported the matter at the police station, I didn’t wait for the police to come and arrest me. I went to the police and submitted myself to them. That will show that I didn’t have the intention of killing my dear daughter. If I meant to kill her as my wife is accusing me of, I would probably run away or went into hiding.”

On what that type of dangerous weapon was doing in his bedroom, John said that he is a security man and that was one of his tools to defend himself and attack robbers.   He accused his wife of encouraging Glory the way she was misbehaving.
His wife, who by her name, should be providing comfort for him is now calling for the full weight of the law to be visited on him.

“He deliberately killed my daughter and so he should also be killed the same way”, she declared. On how he met Comfort, John said that Comfort’s father though late was his friend and also a retired soldier.
According to him, after his disengagement from the military, he took his two wives and seven children to his  village, Jesse. After staying at home for a while, he said life at the village didn’t suit him and so opted to come back to Lagos, but his wives and children said they were not going with him and preferred to stay in the village.
“ It was when I came to Lagos and started visiting Comfort’s father, my friend by then he was still around and I started going closer to Comfort and one thing led to another  and she became pregnant.

Women who are more powerful than Jonathan

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar

Since inception, President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration has been accused of impunity, usually caused by decisions and actions of the President, including those of his ministers and close associates.

Most of the glaring cases of abuse of power including reckless spending of taxpayers’ money have been carried out by the women in Jonathan’s cabinet. These women have proven to be more powerful than the
number one citizen of Nigeria because despite public outcries that greet some of their decisions, they go scot-free.

Those who fall in this seemingly untouchable category are the First Lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan; the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke; the Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Ms. Arunma Oteh; and the Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah.

These powerful women have some things in common. They are all from the South-East and South-South geopolitical zones. Four of them had their higher education in the United States and two of them are daughters of traditional rulers. Needless to say they occupy some of the most strategic and ‘lucrative’ positions in the Federal Government.

PATIENCE JONATHAN

In Nigeria’s history, Patience Jonathan is believed to be the most powerful First Lady in terms of the amount of influence she has over her husband and his cabinet. Mrs. Jonathan first gave a glimpse into the enormous power she wields in 2011 when she traversed the country, campaigning for her husband in a way that irked many Nigerians.

Several calls by individuals and groups to the President to restrain his wife yielded no result. Also, in June this year, in apparent violation of the electoral act, Mrs. Jonathan reportedly started campaigning for her husband ahead of the 2015 elections. Another show of impunity by the President’s wife is the way she cripples any town or city she visits with her long motorcade, including bulletproof limousines and scores of armed policemen.

She grounded Lagos in 2012 when she visited to say “thank you” to some women groups for their support in electing her husband. Despite the protest by several Nigerians, who felt that their right to move freely in their country was violated by the movement of an unelected individual, the President’s wife was never cautioned, at least not publicly. Instead, the Presidency rose to her defence, giving her the liberty to do more in other cities. Her visits and grounding of traffic in Port Harcourt and Warri were also greeted with wide condemnations.

To show how powerful she is, Mrs. Jonathan publicly admitted making attempts to dictate to the Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, a move that largely precipitated the ongoing political crisis in the state.

In Aso Rock, where she resides with her husband, the fear of Mrs. Jonathan is the beginning of wisdom as she leaves no one in doubt that she is in charge. There is always a retinue of favour seekers waiting to see her daily.

Mrs. Jonathan, a native of Bayelsa State, was born in Port Harcourt on October 25, 1957 and holds National Certificate of Education in Mathematics and Biology from the Rivers State College of Arts and Science, and a Bachelor of Education degree in biology and psychology from the University of Port Harcourt.

NGOZI OKONJO-IWEALA

Right from when the negotiation to bring her from the World Bank started, it was obvious that Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was bound to wield so much power in Jonathan’s government.

With her position as the coordinating minister for the economy (a new position created for her) and Finance Minister, Okonjo-Iweala, who is currently 83rd on Forbes’ global list of powerful women, calls the shots as far as Nigeria’s economy is concerned. While doing that, she has called the bluff of many including state governors and the National Assembly without any consequence.

The state governors, who have complained about the shabby way the minister treat them, have called for her removal while the Academic Staff Union of Universities has called her a ‘dictator.’ But no matter the protest, Okonjo-Iweala remains a darling of the President.

The sacking of Mr. Shuaib Yushau as the Head, Media and Information Unit of the National Emergency Management Agency, after he wrote what was considered a critical article against Okonjo-Iweala, further showed that the minister was not to be messed with.

The article entitled ‘Still on Okonjo-Iweala over Controversial Appointments’, published on March 6, called on the minister “to ensure that appointments into important positions should be done in credible and transparent manner that can withstand public scrutiny.”

Similarly, Mr. Lawrence Ani, was reportedly suspended indefinitely from his job as Saturday Editor of Thisday Newspaper for publishing a story that cited data that indicated a drop in Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product under Okonjo-Iweala’s watch.

In 2011, against the opinion of the majority of Nigerians, Okonjo-Iweala and the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, insisted on the removal of fuel subsidy, and literally ordered it on the outset of 2012, resulting in the Occupy Nigeria protest.

Okonjo-Iweala, who also served as finance minister and foreign minister under President Olusegun Obansanjo and as a Managing Director at the World Bank, was born on June 13, 1954 to Professor Chukuka Okonjo, who is the Obi (traditional ruler) of Ogwashi-Uku.

She graduated from Harvard University in 1977, and earned her Ph.D. in regional economic development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1981.

She is married to Ikemba Iweala from Abia State.

DIEZANI ALISON-MADUEKE

Virtually all sections of the Nigerian society have called for the resignation of the Petroleum Resources Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, all to no avail. Most of those who sought her removal had cited several allegations of corrupt practices under her watch as reasons for their demand.

After the revelation of massive fraud in the fuel subsidy administration to the tune of N1.7trn, many had thought that heads would roll, including that of Alison-Madueke, who supervised the rot. Some heads did roll, but not that of the queen of the Nigeria oil and gas industry.

Till date, the Presidency has not queried or probed Diezani over allegations against her and the indictment of departments under her by several panels, including those headed by Nuhu Ribadu, Farouk Lawan, and Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede as well as the Nigerian Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative.

Diezani has also not explained to Nigeria, whom she was appointed to serve, what role she played in the massive corruption that led to the loss of huge amounts of public fund. Apart from the demands for the Alison-Madueke’s resignation and prosecution by civil society groups, who led the Occupy Nigeria protest, the House of Representatives also demanded her removal as minister.

Despite this, the President did not suspend her, and gave no explanation for that. This shows how powerful she is.

Alison-Madueke is the first woman to hold the position of Minister of Petroleum Resources in Nigeria, and in October 2010 she became the first woman to head a country’s delegation at the annual OPEC conference. She was also the first female Minister of Transportation, and the first woman to be appointed to the board of Shell Petroleum Development Company Nigeria.  Alison-Madueke was born on December 6, 1960 in Port Harcourt.

She graduated from Howard University in 1992, with a Bachelor’s degree in architecture and returned to Nigeria to join Shell Petroleum Development Corporation.

About 10 years later, she earned an MBA from Cambridge University and was appointed as the first female executive director of Shell Nigeria.

In 1999, she got married to Admiral Alison Madueke (retd), one-time Chief of Naval Staff who was at different times military governor of Imo and Anambra states.

STELLA ODUAH

Not many are aware of the tremendous power of the Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah, in Jonathan’s government. For her role in Jonathan’s 2011 campaign, she was reportedly rewarded with a ministerial appointment to the aviation ministry, even though she had no prior training in the field of aviation.

Many believe that the President feels indebted to her for her role as the Director of Finance and Administration of the Jonathan/Sambo Campaign Organisation and in the establishment of Neighbour-to-Neighbour outfit, which reportedly spent billions of naira on adverts and media propaganda in favour of Jonathan, especially while the Occupy Nigeria protest lasted.

Considering this relationship with Jonathan, it should not be a surprise that Oduah’s response to critics after the Dana and Associated Airlines crashes reeked of arrogance.

The latest revelation that she forced the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority to buy her bulletproof vehicles has again elicited calls for her removal and prosecution but considering the way the President has treated public outcries against these powerful women, Oduah is likely to remain minister till the end of Jonathan’s administration. Princess Stella Oduah was born on January 5, 1962 to Igwe D.O. Oduah of Akili-Ozizor in Anambra State on January 5, 1962.

She got her Bachelor’s degree in accounting and MBA from American universities.

Oduah joined the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation in 1983 and in 1992, she established a petroleum products marketing company, Sea Petroleum & Gas Company Limited. She was married to the former Minister for Works, Chris Ogiemwonyi.

ARUNMA OTEH

Through her battles, the Director-General of the Securities Exchange Commission, Ms. Arunma Oteh, has sufficiently earned the name ‘Iron lady’ even beyond her official sphere of influence. When she clashed with the House of Representatives Committee on the Capital Market, it was the chairman of the committee, Mr. Herman Hembe, that got hurt.

The committee had accused Oteh of fraud and misappropriation of funds. She fired back, accusing Hembe of demanding bribe from SEC. The SEC board suspended Oteh in order to investigate the findings of the lawmakers, who probed the capital market and indicted her. She immediately petitioned the President and Okonjo-Iweala. After two months, the President returned Oteh to her position, following the auditor’s report that said her offence amounted only to ‘administrative lapses.’ The directors and staff of the commission, who had protested Oteh’s alleged high-handedness, were advised to calm down and obey their boss.

On the other hand, Hembe was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and also stepped down as chairman of the committee.

The crisis led to an intense battle between President Jonathan and the House of Representatives. The House demanded the sacking of Oteh but Jonathan refused.

The passage of the 2013 budget was delayed because of the fight. Eventually, the lawmakers insisted on zero budget for SEC to force the President’s hand, but he did not budge. Calls for her removal by civil society groups also fell on deaf ears. Oteh, who is an indigene of Abia State, is also a British citizen.

She graduated with first-class degree in computer sciences from the University of Nigeria in Nsukka and earned her MBA from Harvard Business School.

Beverly Osu Finally Admits Having Séx In Big Brother Africa

Posted by Unknown Sabtu, 26 Oktober 2013 0 komentar

Beverly and Angelo 2
When she first came out of the Big Brother Africa reality show, Beverly Osu stunned many by denying that she ever had intercourse with Angelo in the bath, even though almost everyone on the social media have watch the video and saw the act clearly. Anyway, she is now singing a new song. Below is what she said:

MY LIFE OUTSIDE BBA…

My life outside BBA has been wonderful. It’s nothing I cannot handle.
THE PAINS AND GAINS…
Well, I’m usually a very busy person, but it’s just that right now, I’ve been a very unstable person. Sometimes, I can’t even stay here in Lagos for a week without traveling here and there. I think that’s a good thing because good things are coming out of it. And apparently, there’s always the negative side and that is mostly things that are not true that you hear about yourself; how people see you and so on. Some people don’t really bother about perception, but if you’re somebody like me, you will think about it and sometimes it will affect your work. But I thank God that my life has been good.

THE SEX SCENE AT THE BBA…
Apparently, I don’t feel sorry because I was being myself.
So, I can’t say sorry to anyone who feels disappointed. They’re living their lives and I’m living mine. The only difference is that I was in a house where I had to make the platform work for me; the platform everybody enjoyed seeing me make. If you guys stuck to your television for 91 days only to see my faults, then you should check yourself because people have their faults and it’s only people with faults that quickly notice that in other persons. I don’t criticise people and I don’t think people should critisice me... no matter how you look at it, I’m still a youth.

The incident was still a hot topic of discussion when Saturday PUNCH visited the area on Tuesday as some people were seen discussing it in the front of house Number 88, Oniwaya Road, where the incident occurred.

There is a transformer located at Oniwaya Junction. House no 88 is just two houses away from the transformer.

A resident of the house, Mr. James Eboh, promptly pointed to a paper on a wall, a poster of the four victims of the electrocution – Ayomide Oluwajedalo (3), Sunday Hisaun (25), Samson Akinrinsoye (25) and Matthew (37).

Eboh shook his head and said the three-year-old victim should not have died.

He said, “The incident occurred around 8pm. There was a spark on the transformer over there. As we heard the spark, everybody scampered for safety because it had happened before.

“A cable detached from the transformer as the spark went off. It fell on this shop here (in the front of No 88). Iya Fathia moved towards the shop to warn the shop owner, who was inside at the time. But she stepped on a metal on which the shop was built.

“As the electric shock went through her body, she was shaking violently. Ayomide who sighted her mother at the entrance of the house, ran towards her and embraced her. He died on the spot. But his mother survived.

“I am the closest friend of Iya Fathia (Ayomide’s mother) in this house. I was one of those who took her to a hospital in Egbeda. It is just sad because the woman is not sane at the moment.”

Asked how Mrs. Oluwajedalo could be located, Eboh said her family had requested for her discharge at the hospital in Egbeda where she was undergoing treatment and taken her to Ijebu-Ode.

“The woman was still in shock and she did not seem to be improving. The family had spent a lot on her treatment. They decided to move her to Ijebu-Ode because the cost was becoming unbearable for them. The last time I spoke with her in Egbeda, she was not sounding normal. She was only saying, ‘My son is not dead! My son is okay! My son is not dead,” Eboh said.

He explained that the young victim had been buried at the Jafojo Cemetery.

Abiola Oladimeji, who was in his shop when the high tension cable fell on it, said he survived by divine grace.

“I was told Iya Fathia was coming to alert us when she was electrocuted. It is just unfortunate,” he said.

It was a wonder that Oladimeji was not electrocuted because his shop on which the cable fell is a moveable metal container.

“I was lucky because there were wooden panels inside the shop. If not because of that, I would not be standing here talking to you today,” the young man said.

Residents of Oniwaya could not provide any information on where Matthew and Hisaun lived before their death. But they gave direction to a house where Akinrinsoye lived which is not far from where he died.

A resident of the house told Saturday PUNCH that his relations had taken his body from the mortuary to his hometown.

“He was not married; he was living alone here. The day he died, he said he was going to the junction to eat in a canteen there,” the resident said.

Information gathered in the area where the incident occurred indicated that such electrocution had taken place in the same spot on several occasions in the last three years.

A petty trader, whose shop faces the ‘transformer of death’ directly, said about the middle of last year, there was a spark on the transformer.

The man who preferred to be called just Alhaji, said, “It was just like this one too. A cable fell down as the spark occurred. It fell on a policeman. The power of the electric current flung the man into the gutter there and he died instantly.

“There was also a time a motorcycle was parked close to the transformer. A cable sparked and fell on it. It burnt the machine completely. Luckily, nobody was on the motorcycle that day.”

Oladimeji, who had earlier spoken with our correspondent, corroborated this as well. He said he could recall at least three previous incidents in the same place.

He stated, “Just this time last year, a policeman who was holding a gun, was electrocuted right here. There was a time a motorcycle parked close to the transformer was burnt.

“Apart from that, there was also another incident involving a motorcycle. I cannot really recall if it was early last year or the year before. A rider and a passenger were passing by when a cable sparked and fell on them. They were both electrocuted.

“Why is it that officials of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria cannot do something about this issue? Are they only concerned about collecting money? They are aware because they always come here after each incident to remove the cables.”

When Saturday PUNCH got to the scene on Tuesday, the cable that caused the electrocution had been removed.

It is common to see high tension cables hanging precariously over residential areas in Lagos.

But residents of Oniwaya said the fact that there had been incidents of electrocution in the same place in the past should have been a reason for PHCN to put in place measures that could protect residents if a spark occurs.

The residents were angry and on the night the incident occurred, a number of youths stormed the palace of the Olu of Agege, Oba Oyedeji Isiba.

Saturday PUNCH visited the Olu’s palace to seek an audience with the king on Tuesday but an official, who had taken our correspondent’s identity card inside, came back later and said, “Kabiyesi is not available for comments.”

PHCN Public Affairs Manager for the Ikeja Zone, Mr. Pekun Adeyanju, told Saturday PUNCH over the phone that he just resumed from leave.

When asked if he got any report in the past about electrocution in the area, he said, “It may be speculation that there had been electrocution in the area before but I will find out about it.”

But Senior Marketing Manager, Akowonjo Business Unit of PHCN, Mr. Henry Adelakun, later told our correspondent that the officials went to the scene of the electrocution the day it happened but protesting youths did not allow them to have access to the area.

He said, “Even community leaders who have my number were already calling to caution us to stay away because of the area boys in the area. But on Friday, two days after the incident, the community leaders came to our office and we promised to remove and replace 3,000 metres of cable with new aluminium conductors.

“We later went to the area that Friday and met with the residents in company with our general manager. When we were informed that one of the victims survived but was in critical condition, the GM indicated that PHCN will do something for the woman, but in the interim, we had to quickly send some money to her from personal pockets.

“It is unfortunate this happened. We have started the removal of the old cables since Monday and should complete the process by Friday (yesterday)”

However, Saturday PUNCH visited the area on Wednesday and noticed that some of the cables had been removed.

Residents also said they had seen officials of the PHCN at work in the area.

Blackberry Launches BB Messenger for Android, Iphones for free

Blackberry reports more than 10 million downloads in 24 hours.

Blackberry Messenger, BBM, for iOS and Android got off to a flying start Tuesday, with BlackBerry reporting more than 10 million downloads during the free app’s first 24 hours of availability.

Blackberry messenger for downloadBlackberry Limited, who has been struggling financially, recently announced its intention to lay off a third of its workforce, adding that it expects to announce financial losses of almost a billion dollars for the June to August quarter, Reuters reports.

But despite BBM’s failed launch in September, 2013, Blackberry recorded an amazing success in the first 24 hours after resuming the launch of BBM for Android and iPhone.

The company’s executive vice president Andrew Bocking, took to the officialBlackBerry blog to thank customers, employees, and partners for their “enthusiasm and commitment” in getting BBM for iOS and Android off the ground, even if the process didn’t go as smoothly as he might have liked.

The rush to download the instant messaging app saw it shoot to the top of app charts in more than 75 countries, including the US, Canada, the UK, Indonesia and most of the Middle East, the executive said, adding, “We have also seen overwhelmingly positive reviews on Google Play and the App Store. In fact, BBM has earned 60,000 five-star reviews on Google Play from about 87,000 reviews.”

All that and the app isn’t even running at full throttle yet as Mr. Bocking promised that BBM features found on the BlackBerry 10 version of the app, including BBM Video, BBM Voice, and BBM Channels, would be coming to the iOS and Android versions “in the near future,” along with other new features.

Although over 10 million people have downloaded the app, a portion of those will be doing little more than simply staring expectantly at the BBM icon, with BlackBerry having opted for a little-by-little approach to activating new BBM accounts in an effort to ease the pressure on its servers.

After downloading BBM, the user is prompted to enter his/her email address and hold his/her place in line. Once you hit the front, BlackBerry sends an email to let you know the app is ready for use. Presumably this system will be dropped once demand begins to ease up, allowing downloaders to dive straight in.

Of course, with so much competition out there in the instant messaging space, there’s no guarantee BBM will become the app of choice for iOS and Android users, but the degree of early interest certainly shows people are keen to take it for a spin to see how it stacks up against the competition.

Have you downloaded the new BBM? How’s it looking for you?
