A 35-year-old man, Mr. Daniel Danboyi, who claimed to be a repentant member of Boko Haram sect, was yesterday paraded by the department of State Services, DSS, Enugu State Command, for allegedly extorting money from some churches under false pretence.
The suspect, who is also known as Shuaibu Shehu Rabiu, was said to have visited several churches in the country, telling fictitious story of how he was actively involved in the activities of the Boko Haram insurgents before he repented and became a Christian.
Parading the suspect in Enugu, State Director of DSS, Mr. Victor Duru, said that Danboyi, a native of Garshi District, Kura Falls, Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, “has been going about duping innocent Nigerians, using religion as his tool.”
According to him, the suspect was arrested at Mountain of Fire and Miracles Church, Zik Avenue, Enugu, in connection with Boko Haram activities.
“He has been going about with a false testimony, deceiving people, duping and exploiting people in the name of religion.
“He claims that he was a Boko Haram member, who has converted to Christianity,” Duru said, adding that Danboyi began the deceit in 2001 at an Abuja church.

A 17-year-old has committed suicide after her parents restricted her use of her mobile phone and social networking sites like Facebook, police said on Thursday.

The incident occurred late on Wednesday night after 17-year-old Aishwarya S. Dahiwal had an argument with her parents over using Facebook on her computer.
According to investigating officer G. H. Lemgude, Aishwarya’s parents had objected several times to her using social networking sites and chatting long over the mobile phone.
“Like all parents, their intentions were only to ensure that the girl did not go astray. They advised her to concentrate on her technical studies and stay away from long mobile chats and social networking sites,” Lemgude said.
After the argument on Wednesday night, Aishwarya went to her room, penned a suicide note and hanged herself.
In the note, Aishwarya reportedly wrote that she had been constantly prevented from using Facebook by her parents.
“Is Facebook so bad? I cannot stay in a home with such restrictions as I can’t live without Facebook,” her suicide note said.
A note referring to the argument and Facebook is being examined by police.
The Dahiwal family, comprising jeweller Sunil Dahiwal, his wife and two sons are in a state of shock.
Experts say that there are almost always multiple causes for a suicide, including psychiatric illnesses, that may not have been recognised or treated.
Internet use remains low across India but is growing quickly, expected to reach about 200 million online out of the 1.2 billion-strong population by the end of 2013.
About three-quarters of India’s high school students prefer Facebook over phone calls to communicate, according to a survey released in June by Tata Consultancy Services.

A 35-year-old woman has told how she has never felt sexually attracted to men or women.
Julie Sondra Decker from Tampa, Florida, revealed that she started describing herself as ‘nonsexual’ at the age of 15 and when she became aware of the term ‘asexual’, she changed it.
The outgoing blonde says that she’s had more offers of s*x than she ‘wants to count’ over the years but, ‘without the feelings that usually go with that sort of thing, it’s kind of gross.’
The writer, who lives alone in a two-bedroom apartment, states that she is not interested in dating or pursuing a domestic partner.
‘I have very close friendships but don’t want a significant other. I don’t want to find another asexual to be roommates with.
‘As far as I can tell I’ll be happy being single my whole life.’
In a YouTube video, Miss Decker says that as a young teenager she kissed and cuddled both boys and girls.
But she concluded: ‘I never found anything that floated my boat.’
She says that her family were convinced that she was a ‘closet lesbian’.
Before she went to college her mother even took her to the doctors because she wasn’t expressing ‘normal’ interest in the opposite s*x.

Since opening up about being asexual on the internet, via YouTube and her blog, Miss Decker says that she’s received death threats and been told by several commentators that she just needs a ‘good defiling.’
‘When people hear that you’re asexual, some take that as a challenge,’ she told the Huffington Post.
‘We are perceived as not being fully human because s*xual attraction and s*xual relationships are seen as something alive, healthy people do.
‘They think that you really want s*x but just don’t know it yet. For people who perform corrective r*pe, they believe that they’re just waking us up and that we’ll thank them for it later.’
Miss Decker says that asexuality presents itself in many forms. Some people, while lacking s*xual attraction to any gender, may engage in purely romantic relationships.
However, she defines herself as ‘aromantic’, meaning she does not have any romantic feelings either.
Professor Bogaert, an associate professor at Brock University in Ontario, Canada, suggests in his book Understanding Asexuality, that around one per cent of the world’s population – 70million people – are ‘asexual.
He believes that this demographic are ‘under-studied’ and that they can feel excluded from our ‘very sexualised culture’.
Experts say a certain number of asexuals may have always existed but are only now starting to ‘come out’ as society becomes more liberal.
To her ‘haters’, Miss Decker concludes: ‘I’m not damaged, lonely or in need of a conversion because I’m not interested [in s*x].’
She hopes to raise awareness about asexuality through her writing and public speaking.
‘[I want]  people who feel similarly to know they’re not alone.’

A s*x attacker who failed in the knifepoint r*pe of a woman because of his drunken impotence apologised to her and said ‘it’s my first time’.
Sudan-born Khalid Abdullah cornered a stranger in an alley and held a blade to her neck in a jealousy fuelled assault, sparked by seeing his own girlfriend with another man.

The victim had been walking to work at 5:30am when Abdullah launched the terrifying attack in April this year.
He told the woman, in her 30s, that he ‘needed s*x’ before putting his hand over her mouth and telling her to keep quiet.
But Abdullah, 35, was unable to carry out the r*pe and told her: ‘It’s my first time, I’m sorry.’
He offered the terrified woman his phone and said: ‘Call the police, you can call the police, call the police now.’
The woman fled but Abdullah caught her and told her he ‘wanted to kill all women’ after catching his girlfriend being unfaithful.
She managed to reach her home in Peterborough, and raised the alarm. Abdullah was later identified through CCTV.
He was convicted of attempted r*pe after a week-long trial at Peterborough Crown Court.
Judge Nic Madge jailed him for eight years and described the attack as ‘every woman’s worst nightmare’.
He told him: ‘Whether due to the amount you had drunk or for some other reason, you were not successful in having s*xual intercourse, clearly that was your intention.
‘You did not succeed in penetrating her and she did not suffer any physical injuries, but this was an absolutely terrifying experience.
‘It was every woman’s worst nightmare. The victim was terrified because of your anger and unpredictability.’
Detective Constable Louise Spinks said: ‘Abdullah is clearly a dangerous individual and we are pleased he is now behind bars for a significant period of time.’

Pope Francis and Tebartz-van ElstIt is sad that the church is today copying those in the world, rather than the world copying the church. And one man who has vowed to checkmate this ugly trend in the church is Pope Francis.

As you read this, Pope Francis has suspended a German prelate, Bishop Franz-Peter Tebartz-van Elst, and he is expected to be on suspension indefinitely. The Bishop, who is now being described as the "luxury bishop" is said to have spend a whooping $43m (about N6.8billion) of Church money on his residence.

An audit of Bishop Franz-Peter's residence revealed that it is fitted with:
1. a free-standing bath that cost 15,000 euros (N3m),
2. a conference table that cost 25,000 euros (N5m),
3. a private chapel for 2.9 million euros (N594m).

The issue is said to be a major embarrassment to Pope Francis, who has consistently warned Bishops and other leaders in the Catholic Church, and Christians in general, not to live like princes but consider the poor.

An “upcoming” actress whose identity is yet to be made known may have had her budding career already in shambles as she has taken up a role in a script which is definitely too big for her to handle.
The actress in question was said to have allegedly snatched the husband of a certain woman who, it was reported, had been patiently waiting to teach her the lesson of her life by publicly disgracing her – and exactly that is what the woman did to the actress!
The woman was said to have laid ambush for her in one of her outings, stri*ped her half unclad and urinated on her as a sign of warning to leave her husband alone.
