Justin Timberlake's Album Without Drake Feature Would've Been 'A Travesty'

It was already a given that Jay-Z would be a guest feature on Justin Timberlake’s upcoming sequel to The 20/20 Experience, but the “Suit & Tie” crooner finally let the cat out of the bag: the other rapper to make the cut is Drake.
“Drake being so vocal about appreciating me as an artist and I appreciate him as an artist,” JT said when he dropped by Shade 45’s "Sway in the Morning." “So when we met up in person, I said man we should do something at some point, it would be a travesty if we don’t.”
And while that conversation led to an official collaboration, a similar conversation with Kanye West  has yet to yield the same results.
Given that Justin and Yeezy had beef over his collab with Hov, it would seem that “something” is out of reach, but since they squashed their “beef” and the fact that the former N’SYNC frontman thought the “Blood On The Leaves” MC’s VMA performance was “beautiful.”
“He said the exact perfect thing, which was ‘Well, the best way I know how to do that is just for us to sit down and just play music and I said exactly,’” he said. “I love ‘Ye so I feel like I understand what he’s doing. I love Yeezus, I love the album. I think he’s ahead of a lot, especially in his genre. You have to at least listen and give him the benefit of the doubt because he’s earned that and I get it.”
Outside of a desire to work with the G.O.O.D. Music CEO, Justin talked about how writing for Beyoncé led to his collaborations with his Legends of the Summer tour partner and how much influence Michael Jackson had on his career.
“To even be mentioned in the shadow of the greatest of all time, it’s an honor,” he said. “When I was a kid, I used to run around the house singing Jackson 5 songs. What Michael did for performing in general. People fell in love with Michael because he did something to your blood when he performed on stage. So if you’re gonna give me the Michael Jackson Vanguard, I’m gonna take my opportunity.”
One quick gander at Twitter during the 2013 VMAs is proof that Justin took that opportunity and ran with it. His nearly 15-minute performance that covered his illustrious career was the highlight of the show.
"My two favorite things to do at a show is the make people go like 'Damn!' and to make people be like 'you know what, I'm having fun'."
